Jiffy Stealth STX vs STX Pro

The Stealth STX is 30 pounds and the STX Pro is 28 pounds. Not sure how they cut the 2 pounds off though with both being 2HP. Anhy one have any insight to that?

My big question is still about the High Torque Transmission and whether it is worth the extra $50.

I've been using the STX Pro this year and it's a great auger. As far as the weight is concerned I think the difference is that it has a plastic cover on the gearcase, rather than the old metal one. One HUGE difference is the muffler sytem on the new stx pro, it's a very nice improvemet over the super loud model 30. It cuts faster, or as fast as a 2 blade strikemaster Lazer and has a 3yr warranty on the blades. I think at this time, the only faster auger is a nilsmster. I think it's a great auger and would buy one over again if I had to make the same decision. Most stores should start closing them out in the next month, so you should be able to save $50 easily.
