hoggs222
What do you guys do to add weight to your plows? We've got 2 wheelers: 2006 JD 650 Buck with a 60" country plow and a 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500 with the 48" Polaris blade. The JD is used mostly for the driveway. The Polaris is used for banking a fishhouse. With the Polaris for the fishhouse banking, I have had to sit on the front of the wheeler with my feet on the plow to catch any snow on the ice.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Dozer
Never heard of that problem before. Are your skids adjusted so your cutting edge is on the ground? Maybe you could modify it so it is angled back a little bit so it bites in better?
Roofer
Is it a Polaris plow? The older Polaris plows, especially a 48" ones were really light weight. Does that seem like the problem?
hoggs222
It is an older Polaris plow. It is pretty light. The problem that I have is that I lose most of the snow, because it isn't heavy enough, so it bounces up and all the snow is now behind me. nine-tiner
I have used bags of sand set on the plow frame. Otherwise if you know someone in a machine shop have them put some holes in a heavy piece of bar stock and add that to the top edge.
