Anyone use Quantume Incyte or Shimano Sedona reels???

Trying to decide on 2 reels. 1 for Walleye one for casting bass/northern.

Looking at either the Shimano Sedona...or Quantum Incyte.

Both seem really smooooooth. Both $50.

Suggestions?

I have never used the Incyte, but I do know that Quantum makes a very quality reel...

I do own about 5 of the sedonas, maybe more, need to count them.. They have never failed. me. I use them for ice fishing, but have used them on my jig worm rod for bass too.

I am kind of a cheapskate, so I love Shimano Sedona's. They are not the worlds smoothest reels, and I am a backreeler so I never rely on the drag system (which I suspect is only adequate). I typically get 5 years out of one before it is retired to my panfish collection. That doesn't seem like a very long life from a reel, but ask Deitz how much I use spinning reels bass fishing.

Thanks Ray... I added a couple Quantum Incytes to the collection today. A 20F for walleye - and a 30F for pike. I figured its probably flipping a coin at this price point. So I went with the cooler name, and better looking reel I guess. If I need something better, I'll step up to a Symytre.

Or if you like your Quantum, take a step or 2 up that ladder. i have a catylist and an Energy, and really like them both after a couple years of service. Too darn many shimanos out there...

I've got two Sedonas, one front drag and one rear drag. Both have worked well and seem to represent a good price vs. performance ratio.

If you want to step up, the Stradic spins pretty nice.

I would also think about the Symetre. I have 2 and love them. Also have a pflueger president and it is also a nice real.

The symetre runs around 70$ and the president about 60$

No problems with any of the choices mentioned so far it the post.

I bought a Pflueger President last year and it has turned into my favorite. Much nicer than compareable priced Shimano.

I have uses Shimano's in the past and had problems with the drag. Switched to Pfluerger's and couldn't be happier!!
