assembly of an x2

Recommended Posts

Bought an X2 the other night and would like to put it together tonight, but realized that I don't have my drill at my place. Does anybody happen to know whether or not I would have to drill the tub in order to mount the plates where the poles attatch, or do they come attatched already. I would rather not open the box only to find out that I am not going to be able to put it together tonight with the tools that I have.

If you are doing just a basic assembly you don't need a drill. All sled holes are predrilled. Hyfax or other custom stuff yes. oops: the molding on the rear of the sled is attached with screws. You don't technically need a power driver for them but it would be 200% easier if you did. Take your time with that molding strip. Get it warm and do it in a warm place. I used a rubber mallet to get it firmly over the fabric and onto the sled rim. A second person is VERY handy with this step.

I just finished up with the assembly. The project took me two or so hours and I didn't run into any major complications. The molding went on a lot easier than I would have imagined. Looking forward to getting out this morning and putting it to use!

How is your tarp when you set it up is it tight in the front porch area like the corners? I had a buddy set this up with me and we tried to get the tarp as loose as possible in the back to have extra tarp towards the front but still come up real tight!! With out the front spreader poles I couldn't get my porch on the ice and the tarp is stretching in the corners. Any body else have this problem?
