Idling speed?

Double Barrel

While I don't have the specs, they use the same block (same displacement, etc) so I would anticipate that the idling speed will be the same.

If it were me, just because I like to have power, I'd go for the 175, but it would also depend a little on the price hit.

Great topic.

I would say 150, and the reason that i say this is becuase they are the same block, and the 175 will give you a few more miles per the gallon, but do you think spending the extra money is worth that.

I myself, dont believe that spending the extra money for a 175 is worth it, but if you believe that you need that extra power, the go for it. There both going to be close to the troll down speed.

They both have same idle rpm and gearing, consequently idle speed will be same, you will see difference at max rpm and wot, but as far as trolling speed they are same. SmartCraft gauges and setup will help more than HP size.

I agree with Valv, same idle speed between those two motors. And it's probably going to be fast, like 3-3.5 mph, with the props that you're going to want to run on that boat.

I have a boat rated for 175 HP, I went with a 175 even though most people that buy this boat go with a 150. I'm a believer in maxing the HP, and in setting up the boat to perform with heavy loads.
