Speedo beads and Simpleton weights

so fleet is getting rid of all there VHS for 2.50 a piece and i picked up soft plastics for bass along with many others. In the video al raves about these speedo beads and simpleton weights. I have never heard of them and wonder if there is something better out there for carolina rigging? They do seem pretty good but the movie was made in 1991 so a little dated but gotta love al and the boys. ike
