Just checking in to see if anyone else is heading up to Thumper Pond in Ottertail this weekend for the NWTF State Awards banquet.

Being that I'm a local committee (Ottertail Lakes Chapter) member and live about 8 miles from Thumper, I'll be there!

We're definitely excited about having the state convention this far north. (The farthest north it's ever been is St. Cloud.)

Come and enjoy the fun. Here is a quick synopsis of the goings on.

Thanks for the info MJ. My in-laws live on Silver Lake just down 78.

I was thinking about fishing Saturday morning, but with temps getting down to -15 for a low, that rules me out.

I may come early enough to see the rep's from Primos, H.S., and Quaker Boy.

Too bad it is competing with PF event is St Paul. Combination NWTF convention and a little ice fishing (burr this weekend) would be fun.

If there are any custum turkey call makers in MN, it woud be nice to get them some exposure on this site or a NWTF web site.

this may be a stupid qiestion, but I would assume taht we can purchase tickets to the banquet at the door for those of us who have a bad habit of procrastinating?

Yes, the tickets are $10 more at the door, but as far as I know, you'll be able to buy them then and there.

Eric was at our meeting for the Valley Yelpers a couple weeks back. Great guy. This spring is going to be nuts between our banquet March 13th, my oldest son graduating, hopefully turkey hunting, turkey clinics, ATV clinics, and the list goes on and on.

As far as the fishing goes, I'm not so sure I'll be participating at the fishing event this weekend, but I'll be getting out possibly on Sunday while I'm up there (in a nice warm fish house )
