I was on a lake Friday afternoon about 3pm or so in Aitkin County. A guy comes over to my Frabill with an "Ahoy" and asks me if I would like some venison, fresh off the grill. Of course I said yes, I would be a fool to turn that down.

Then he was off.

I never caught his name or anything.

I don't know if he is a member here or not, but to him and all others like him, just doing right by others, I hereby salute you and give you a big old Thank You.

It is people like you who help keep our sport enjoyable and fun.

Some of the best people that you meet in this world, you meet while in the outdoors. Like cncmike said, thank you to everyone that treats people like you would like to be treated.

That's awesome. I've met a lot of people like that in the outdoors. We always hear the bad stories, but the good ones are out there and I like to believe outweight the bad.

That's the kind of thing that can really brighten a guy's day. A nice, generous offer of fresh, hot venison is a great deal in my book.

And I agree that some of the nicest people you meet are in the outdoors. It must be the "country state of mind" or something.
