I was on a lake Friday afternoon about 3pm or so in Aitkin County. A guy comes over to my Frabill with an "Ahoy" and asks me if I would like some venison, fresh off the grill. Of course I said yes, I would be a fool to turn that down.

Then he was off.

I never caught his name or anything.

I don't know if he is a member here or not, but to him and all others like him, just doing right by others, I hereby salute you and give you a big old Thank You.

It is people like you who help keep our sport enjoyable and fun.

That's the kind of thing that can really brighten a guy's day. A nice, generous offer of fresh, hot venison is a great deal in my book.

And I agree that some of the nicest people you meet are in the outdoors. It must be the "country state of mind" or something.
