another I-Pod ?

Question

Here is another question for all you I-pod owners. My wife and I have our own I-pods and have downloaded a lot of music, audiobooks..etc to our home computer over the past couple of years.

I am thinking it would be a good idea to back up our collection and I am wondering how others have done this. I-tunes does have a "pop up" saying I should back up my collection and tells me to insert a disk and make copies. This would take a ton of discs and a whole lot of time...as we have about 1000s items to copy.

I assume I could buy a external hard drive or memory drive and do it that way....has anyone done this? Is it pretty easy....copy and paste sort of thing?

Thanks.

Cliffy.

Western Digital (I'm sure there are many brands) makes external hard drives, ranging from 120GB to 500GB (and much larger)....They simply plug into your existing hard drive. I bought a 250GB a few months ago to back-up and also free up space on my hard drive. IMO, this would be the way to go...they're relatively inexpensive for the amount of "space" you get.

Very easy to transfer from one to the other.

Good luck!
