Antique lures (7 pics)

I finally got around to playing with the "Studio in a box" and figured these would make some good test subjects (and I can use the practice!).

These are all wooden lures from my grandfathers tackle box. I don't know exactly how old they are, he passed in 1975 so it wouldn't surprise me if these were 40+ years old.

20+ years ago I caught a northern on the red and black one, it would probably work well today too but I don't fish with these anymore, just pull them out to look and remember.

Ah, thanks for sharing these. They bring back memories of me going into my Dad's tackle box and selecting the lure of the day. I wish I had all of his lures back that I lost to fish, submerged structure and lost along the way to the ol' fishin' hole! smile.giffrown.gif

nice images Johnk....they also bring back memories of my early fishing excursions in the 60's....the photos look like lures made by "Heddon"...your first image(the red one) looks to be a "river runt"...others look like heddon lures as well....used em for largemouth...ahh..memories

Thanks guys!

Nice collection dtro, those are certainly from the same era. I have a couple of old reels like yours too - I think one has the same backlash even wink.gif. That heavy black line was something. I'm not sure if one of mine still has it, but I sure remember it.
