I fish my guide with a heater, flasher, minnow bucket, camera and two guys. We use 3 holes with the camera, but it works. my buddy has the voyager and we dont use it as often since it weights more to pull. If we drive we use his if we walk we use mine.

Where and what kind of heater are you using.

That was plan as I have old 5x6 clam but it gets heavy pulling. So I understand the weight thing just afraid to burn the house or myself or worst son.

I use the little buddy heater. We used it in -20 last year and did just fine. I usually put the heater in one corner by the door and the flasher in the other corner with the minnow bucket between the two seats and the camera between the heater and the flasher with the hole for the camera behind or under the camera. I cut 9 inch holes and it works well. I am living in ND and we are allowed 4 lines each, so i place 6 tip ups and jig or deadstick if i am with some one. If i am by myself i will use two tip ups and one jig and one deadstick. I have taken both of my kids with me and this gets a little tight. I put a stool in one corner by the door and i dont fish, i just maintain lines and bait for the kids.

I have a Guide and can fish two people with a Mr. Heater (Sunflower style with a 20 pound tank), two flashers, underwater camera, bucket for fish, and minnow bucket.

I won't lie, it does get a bit crowded, and you aren't the most mobile this way because the heater is usually sitting on the ice in front of everyone, and somebody has to carry it to the next hole or figure out how to set it in the sled. If you are careful, you can put the heater between you, and have the bucket for rods/fish in front of you. This might might make it a little easier to move. Just make sure you have the heater wedged in somehow. Lots of times I will take a smaller cooler for minnows that fits under the seats.

Like I said, you don't have a ton of room, but I wouldn't want to be dragging anything heavier than my Guide through a lot of snow and slush by hand. I've never had a problem with burning myself or the shack on the heater either. If you had a buddy that would give you even more room, and less worries about burning things.

Well I did call Gander Mnt were we bought and they did excange it, had to put together. After using both the Guide and Yukon you are right on the money with the information you all shared. I do like having a little more room but it is heavier the one thing I think will work well is you can pull the seats out of the Yukon to save weight for those first ice times and hope that the lake makes good ice before the snow comes. Thanks again for the information and how true the information was.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
