Mr Heater hose handwheel

You folks that use the hose to hook up a bulk tank to your Mr. Heater heaters, do you use the included handwheel that is supposed to go on the POL nut? The hose I bought at Fleet Farm did not have the handwheel on the hose, it was floating free in the packaging . It is necessary to use it, and does it help to use it for connecting/diconnecting the hose from the tank? The fit is tight to get the wheel over the nut, so if I install it, what is the easiest way to do this? The directions say to put the POL nut in a vise, then tap the wheel on with a hammer. Seems like a bit of messing around to me,especially if I don't need it.

It really helps having that hand wheel on there when you are connecting and disconnecting the tank. It makes hook up a breeze. No wrenches needed and you will always get it tight enough not to leak. Just install the hand wheel the way they say, it goes pretty easy.

Whatever you do don't ream on it, step on it, or put to much pressure on it. It'll break. It is so nice to have on the hose. It's much easier than using a wrench.
