Fish Trap Scout Runners and Towbar

I have heard a lot of people are putting cross country skis on their scout as runners... How do they work for towing behind a snowmobile? I would also like to try to make some kind of inexpensive towbar... i normally just tye the rope onto the back bar but i may be taking some long treks this year and i need something that i dont have to worry about it falling off when im cruising down the lake... i was thinking about just buying everything but it really adds up to a lot of money!

Heavy duty plastic from plastic supply companys work great as runners, I've also made tow bars out of basic stuff from the hardware store. Will take some photos tonight or tomorrow and explain more.

Something that works great for skies is to find a cheap pair of downhill skies form your local goodwill. Cut them to length and attach. If you find yourself going through snow a lot you could make a lift kit out of them to get the tub riding a little higher.
