Ice chisel

I would like some opinions on the Mille Lacs design. This would be the one with the teeth ground into it like steps. Is this better than the old stand by flat blade and if so why?

I have that exact model. It works great! I've had mine for almost 3 years. The one problem I ahve with mine is I can't find anyone to sharpen it since it's blade pattern is jagged. Then again, I really haven't searched that hard for someone to sharpen the blade.

I bought one this year mostly for trapping purposes but it works great, and I have used the flat blades for a few years and there's no comparison.

Millacs chisels are as good as they get. I had one .. was stolen from permanent a few years back I havent seen one in a shop since.

I used to chisel my holes in up to 10" of ice with less effort than a hand auger would take. 4" of ice per hit .. can't beat them.
