SnoManX
Has anyone taken the grips off of their CanAm's to install handwarmers? There is a plastic plug at the end with a phillips screw, but after I undo the screw, the plug and grips still won't budge. I tried prying the plug out with a screw driver but that didn't work either. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks!
pulsar_nx
The grips were glued on on my bomb 400. I don't think that I had a problem with the end caps, but the grips I had to cut off and sand down the glue a little.
jltimm
Take the screws out of both. Insert a air compressor blower into the screw hole on the hand grip.Give it a slow shot of air, but make sure you aim the other hand grip away from windows, or anything that could get damaged from a flying projectile. You'll have to use your finger or something to plug the hole on the opposite handgrip of which you are blowing into. If you have 2 people available this job would be easier. I do not know if it will work on a Can Am, but I had to do this on my old Yamaha and the one handgrip flew right off. Good Luck!
SnoManX
Well, I stopped by the CanAm dealer this morning to find out what the "trick" was to getting the grips off. He told me a knife! I guess the grips are epoxyed on.
