Shack, I'm still impressed you were able to make it lite enough to lift unloaded. Not sure I could have even done that with the Flip 3 empty. No biggie tho, forces me to finally buy a wheeler.

I believe you are right regarding the strike-lite. To my knowledge you can lie them on three sides, but not the gas tank side.

Actually the gas tank side is th ONLY side you're supposed to lay them on. It says so right on the auger...

danwilliams and Mcgurk,

Thanks for the tip! cool.gif

I went up after work today and got the last two from St. Cloud store. They where $19.00 plus tax. Best deal I have found. I am glad I waited. Almost half price from big box store I was at.

Mounted them up to night. Just got done.

Hey guys, I also have a guide and was wondering with the mods you guys have in there...does the travel tarp still fit over it? I seem to have trouble getting mine stretched over it without the mod. I put a simple one in last year just to hold the buckets and such, but I am looking to completly redo it this year.

Great Mods Guys!

Say FLaker, I see you support your 1x4 in the front by attaching to the supplied angle iron/pipe swivel piece that came with the original set up. How do you support the floor you installed on the other side? Vertical wood legs?

any help or more pics would be great

Biddaddy18,

I was their on Friday afternoon about 4:00 pm. They where like the last ones on the shelf. It was nut and crazy. I luck out and was able to hit a line that went thrown fast.

Where you their then? If so, small world! cool.gif

afull,

I have never used a cover. I put mine in back of an SUV, but I would like one now for summer storage. I would be a stretch for the Otter cover and my out shoot shelf

I think I understand your question, so here it goes.

There is a metal bracket in all 4 corners that used to hold the tubes. I used the rear brackes and the front brackets to support my 1x4 frame.

If you were sitting in the Guide, fishing, there would be a tube on your left and one on your right. The seats attached to a cross piece that slid back and forth on the tubes. I unbolted the tubes and built a 1x4 frame that would fit within the metal supports. It is 1x4 perimiter and then a 1x4 in the middle running the long way. Then, I placed all of my gear in the sled where I thought it should go. From there, I attached vertical pieces of 3/8 ply to make divided compartments around the gear. The shallow compartments are plywood attached to the bottom of the 1x4 frame. I used some pine 1/4 round to gusset the corners where plywood came together. Finally, I cut the deck/door plywood 1/4" smaller than needed and applied the hinges to the doors. I put some indoor/outdoor carpet glue and carpet on the doors and finally attached them to the frame. The last step was to add the rails for the chairs to fit into. (These rails are going to come off as I rarely use the chairs.)

I will try and snap a couple more pics if you would like.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
