10,000 Casts
There is a place in Brandon, MN called the Muskie Farm that sells them. They have a bunch of different strains, It wouldn't be that expensive to buy a bunch. But I do know that they grow bigger than there surroundings and they would eat everything in your pond. Might be fun to try it though, I know that bass guys do it down south. It would be pretty cool. I thimk that the reason it is illegal is because you can only have one live muskie in your possession and if it is your private pond... They are your muskies and you can be fined for being over your limit. well off to work,
lucy1205
yeah, I know it illegal but do you think muskie farms would sell them to me at my own risk. Like to put in the lake or my own pond. My pond has nothin in it besides bass. They can get eaten for all I care. Shes about 95 acres. "big enough to support a couple hundred tigers". Its about 35 feet, majority is about 9 to 16 feet. It does not winter kill and would be great muskie fishin. No one fishes it and it completally surrounded by my property. There is obviously no launch but I can put a boat in through my back yard and start fishin.
10,000 Casts
I don't see why they wouldn't sell them to ya, probably ship em right to your door. Sounds like a sweet little pond. In 10 years, you might be throwing Double Cowgirls.

lucy1205
Yeah, I hear ya on the Net thing but I had to ask and this is the quickest way to get questions answered. I aint doin it anyway unless my tax returns are quite healthy. Anyways I heard from some one that Tigers only live about 7 years. Reaching 40 inches at about age 5, In some extreme cases even 3 years. I was also told pure breds can live about 17 or 20 years. This may not be true I just don't know. Like I say im sure some one will let us know by replying, which is cool. Thats why I say stock them tigers all over the place. There hardy and just as fun. vermilionwally
I wouldnt think you would get in trouble for stocking them into a lake if its 95 acres. Thats a little bigger then most ponds and they would have trouble finding them in there. I know some lake owners associations buy fish and stock them in small lakes so i dont know if youd get in trouble or not.Interesting discussion. Muskiefool
Hey Lucy I would contact Steve at the McKenzie Fish Co, I know he has Tigers for sale he would probably give you a decent price on, you will need a stocking permit for the fish to be transported, you can get the application from your local DNR office, also if you have bass you may want the fish a bit bigger just so your not feeding Largies if you need any #'s just PM or E-mail me.
