CSTPETER
Just took a spin around Home depot and they've got 7/16 chipboard for $5.69/ Piece. Looks like sheetrock is dirt cheap as well. If you knew you'd be building a new home in the next 2-4 years and had the storage space, is now the time to buy some of this stuff or are you better off waiting? bottomdweller
I know someone that bought a semi load. Just holding till it gets high. Think his investment is better than the stock market? I do. If you can afford it buy it.
Roofer
That's a good idea if you like paying the IRS. For the original post......I have seen OSB change from $5 to 15, and lately back down to $5. If you are building the house yourself, it may be a good idea. If you are hiring it done, I'm not sure it is such a good idea. Not many Contractors like using materials they don't buy. If you get a Contractor that will work with you, it may be a little savings. It really depends on how much you think your time and effort is worth to you.
