I have just gotten a new origional otter with the magnum sled. I bought one good otter seat with the cup holder. I have noticed that the back will open up when you place the seat on the rail. any good ideas to bolt down the elastic back their would help out alot. I have placed rod holders in mine on the slopped side and on the back side I have a milk crate which I hold the lp tank whick I think I will switch to 10lb due to weight I use a small fishing bag for my lures and other stuff. It dose get cold in their by my self any opinions on how to keep the heat in better would be great. I also place all the ice from drilling the holes on the flapps to keep the wind out and I also ues wood to stand on.

Enjoyed reading the many tips on “customizing your houses”.

I particularly liked the ideas of the bubble wrap and blanket for the roof and also the tap lights. I will be incorporating these ideas in my next ice-fishing trip. Thanks for these tips.

To keep my feet warm when sitting on the ice for long periods of time I got some 1-inch blue (or pink) foam
sheets. Then I glued a cheap indoor-outdoor carpet on one side. (Cut the sheets to fit the area of your house for hole placement for your particular house.) I lay these down in front of my seat while fishing and since I started using them I have never had cold feet.

I have the Fish Trap Voyager and I store these foam sheets on the bottom of my unit while transporting it. It acts as a cushion for my ice-auger, lantern and other gear while on route to and from fishing.

If you are going up to Mille Lacs anytime soon stop in at Milaca Unclaimed Frieght. They have those tap lights for 59 cents. I saw them at Target the next day for 2.50. I should have boughten a bunch of them, I just didn't know if it would work! Good Luck.

I just sold my old fish trap, and bought the new pro and this is what i did too it. I put a 36 in sticker ruler to measure my fish on the sled lip by youre front feet. Then i cut 3 one inch slots just wide enough to clamp 3 of those orange plastic rod holders on. They can be romved too. Works better cuz there lower to the ice. Next since the new traps have lots of play in the canvas to stop it from blowing into my latern i took and cut pvc pipe and put connectors on it so it can be taken a part and put in sled. But it is used in front of the door to keep the wind from blowing in the canvas at night works slick, the i put my lantern tight to the pole. Next i got some golf club plastic holders and cut slots in them to hold rods with reels screwed them to the sled. Then i got 1 inch stryo from my job site and cut slots for a bucket minnow and 5 gal, latern box, and tackle box keeps the stuff from bouncing all over and i carpeted the styro. i keep my tackle and any extra dump in a plastic shell box. also cut a spot for the vexilar. i think this system is pretty slick, i can fish 2 holes and have room for the latern and heater.

For Setterguy

Thanks for the tip on Milaca, only thing is I would have to go down to Milaca as I'm about 140 miles north of there.

I guess I will have to pay the big bucks.
