Spearing Hole ?

How big of a hole do you cut for spearing?

I'm a newbie. I want to try spearing this winter. I have a portable Quickfishh III, bought a Fish's ice saw, and added a spear to the Xmas list.

if i was cutting it with a auger, which i dont i cut it with a spear.

It would be 5 holes across and 4 holes down.

I usually cut mine to be 2x3.5 with my saw it works out awesome, good luck

I think a normal spear hole is 2'x3' but I could be wrong I'm hoping my hole in my house works out. It's 17" wide and about 7'6" long. Has anybody speared out of a long narrow hole like this?
