Yeah pal I need you! The only thing better would be to have all my friends there with us, we would definitely have a good time. I have all your hair tungsten and hair concoctions in my top pocket ready to go. I'm going to start with yellow it's always been good to me. I'm calling WallEyes on the way up see if we can visit a bit when we hit Anoka and stop by MarCum wink.gif

It's crappies and bluegills 8 and 8 on Saturday and on Sunday. ReelEmIn hooked me up with a scale so we can get every gram out of those hooey's and happpies come weigh-in. Looking foward to meeting the other NY teams and Mr. John Battistella for a froth or two. I'll have my cell with me and will be checking in with Todd with updates so he can post. There supposed to have 9" gills and 12" crappies in Lake Agnes and Lake Henry which are located in the city of Alexandria, MN. My Maki plastic order should be here shortly wink.gif. I told Pops and Todd that I will be bringing back bulk spikes and waxies for the crew here. I'm prepping the 2" lettered DNR License numbers for the portables as we speak so I'm in compliance with there regs. Rods are spooled, blades are changed on the Strikemaster hand augers. Power auger fired on the third pull and my 1 gal. fuel can is topped off. After I drop Tyler off at the bus station Monday morning I'll do a practice loading and unloading to make sure I can get on and off the ice quick. My freaking checklist had 67 items of gear I made sure I had and I'll everything I need including battery and sonar back-up.

Anyhow well do our darndest to represent the NY gang of FM proud! Thanks for the support. I'm feeling ya and will miss you! Were leaving the morning of the 9th and will be back the 18th, 6 straight days of ice fishing, Whahoo! grin.gif

Yep Kevin and Rich his partner will be there too. I believe they qualified with a top 5 finish at Wamplers last year. I think they finished in the top twenty in NY too, but I am not positive;) Kevin's bringing a boat load of Maki's stuff too wink.gif

Thanks for the package Jay you and dad have given me so much through the years, thanks bro!

John - best of luck to you guys too. Yeah that drive will be something, good thing I had that 15.5 hour warm up drive to South Carolina on 3 stops. We played with the Verizon phone and used the satellite drive tracking feature and it worked pretty well on the return trip. I think will be leaving about 6 a.m. Sunday a.m., when are you guys shoving off John?

Tim,by my estimate that puts you guys there somewhere in the vicinity of 2:00 am monday morning? Two years ago we made the trip in about 17 1/2 hrs.only stopping for go go juice. We were over caffinated and an absolute mess when we arrived. But that didn't stop me from walking out my back door onto the frozen lake about twenty yards and Immediately jiggin'up a nice walleye! It was at that precise moment I realized exactly where I was,THE LAND OF A THOUSAND LAKES!!THE ICE FISHING MECCA!!Then ALL the driving stress was GONE!To answer your question (finally) we are leaving at about 2:00 pm Saturday afternoon, stopping at least a couple times for grub and a break from the road, for an ETA of around 9:00 am Sunday morning.

Saw on the news this morning at least it's cold there. Have any of you guys checked the conditions or foreseeable ones for where you are going fishing?

I see you guys have been getting a few wallys, little slow at this end for this time of year.

John - Typing a reply back to you yesterday afternoon and the power went out here on the base??? Anyhow caught Kyle on the way out of work and told him that I felt I could go and make the trip without stopping (Plenty of Red Bull) and wanted to make it for lunch at MarCum. If we leave around 4 p.m. Sunday without staying overnight along the way that would put us around 10.am. in Anoka, MN for M&G. It's another 2 hour drive after that to Alex., so well be there around check in time to pass out. Well start fishing Tuesday after a hearty breakfast and a Christopherson's stop. I'll call you when we get in to Alex John...

The weather is looking downright chilly there grin.gif

Too funny guys grin.gif My newest batch of Makiplastics has got me jacked up! Scott's stuff is absolutely amazing, talk about match the hatch there in trouble, buttered or or not there defnitely gonna rip some lips.

Johnny B- Hey man quick question for you I noticed there's quite a few tolls on the way up.. Are they mostly EZ Pass or should I have a couple rolls of quarters with me or what? Thanks Bro...

Timmy,

Lots of tolls is not the word!!I'm not to sure about how many are EZ pass, but I AM sure that it cost us about $50.00 each way for tolls in 2005!! shocked.gifOf course we were pulling a SINGLE axle trailer which added to the cost, but still HOLY dump!!There were some stretches where we were stopping every 10 miles to pay another toll. That was when I realized just how good we have it here in N.Y. state.Sorry I cant accurately answer your question,my best guess is bring both, and if it is mostly cash you'll need more than a roll or two of quarters!
