MN Shutterbug
Wow, he couldn't have been too far away. Is this the same area that Steve shot his black wolf? Fernberg sounds familiar.
finnbay
The Fernberg runs about 15 miles northeast of Ely and truly is the "end of the road". I don't know exactly where Steve got his shot at, but it was also along the Fernberg. The one shot was at about 50 feet and the other was at about 40 yards. He was in a shootable spot. I've already filled both my tags but someone could have definitely put some stew meat into the kettle!
Moose
Nice shots I like the black line on the spine of the first one. Good to see snow up there. I'll be up to Onepine on Wed. Been a while since I've been up I'm looking forward to it.
finnbay
There's a dusting, but they're predicting a little each day through the first part of the week.

Dbl
Nice shots, especially that first one Ken. I love the snow falling, really adds to the shot.
Steve Foss
Nice stuff, Ken. Looks a lot like the guy who ended up in my freezer last week. Same age, anyway.
finnbay
Thanks, everyone. Maybe it's a perspective thing, but this deer seemed to have a big body for a spike. My son-in-law shot a forkhorn this year that didn't look nearly as big. Did yours the thick body, too, Steve?
Steve Foss
Yeah, pretty nice body for a yearling. Fork on one side, spike on the other, good body size. And tasty? Oh yeah!
hendenhook
Nice shot, nice frame, well done in low light. he looks pretty calm after two weeks or so of the deer season being open. He also looks like a big deer for a yearling to me, but they do grow them big up there.
