Resorts not far from Twin Cities

I will be going on a fishing trip next summer with my dad and bro and was looking for a resort to stay at that is not too far from the Twin Cities and offers fast action for Pike, Walleye etc. Will be fishing light tackle so don't need to be monsters. Also, looking for a lake that isn;t too big. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I would say Vermillion would be a good choice, all the required species, it is a big lake but plenty of places to fish if it gets windy. Plus you cannot beat the scenery.

I'll second Vermilion, but will go a little further. Stay on the west end of the lake, the water is "smaller" there. Take a look at a map, the west end does have some larger water, but has lots of smaller areas. The east end has one very large body of water to contend with (Big Bay), and it can be a bear in the wind!

Hoy's resort on French lake, muskies, bass, eyes, all the northerns you want in the area, good price, nice people!

I'll second Hoys they have treated us very well and it's a great lake.
