Kodiak
I was wanting to install a gas tankless bosch water heater in my house when my 1988era water heater goes. How much do they usually charge to install one, and isnt the gas line usually the problem with the install? What is the requirement for the waterheater and how would you enlarge the gas line and increase flow??
dakotakid31
the tankless are right around 195000-200000 btu's. add up what you have(furnace, dryer, fireplaces, garage heater ect.) then take a look on your meter there is a metal tag that will tell you the output BTU's and also check to see if you have high pressure(2psi) coming in or if it is regulated at the meter. alot of houses are not setup to use that many btu's(175-250) if that is the case in some cases the gas company will switch it out for free call them up and find out. now if it is regulated at the meter and you switch to high pressure then you have to regulate the appliances ,ect to low in the house and that is why they are very expensive to install so many "if's". tell ya the truth-i would stick to the tank water heater. oh and you will need a 5in hole in the side of your house for the exhaust.
