Pictures from Phoenix

Here are a few pics from Phoenix from this past weekend. Buzzsaw and friends were on the same flight as our party. Small world!

We were at the Nextel Cup race on Sunday. The flag was brought to the infield by a parachutist.(sp?) Really cool tribute to veterans as well.

We went to the Phoenix Botanical Gardens on Monday. The lighting was challenging, since the sun was pretty intense.

This flower I think is a Fairy Duster. The desert wildflowers were pretty unique.

True, the flag idea was a cool tribute, with a good photo to prove it. I like the fairy duster. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. Of course, I don't hang out in deserts.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I took four or five pictures of the sky diver with the flag. The sun was directly behind him at times, so it was hard to spot him. The whole thing gave me goose bumps.

The Botanical Garden is right in the center of the Scottsdale area. It was a great place to get the "desert experience" on a time schedule.

Buzzsaw, it was nice meeting you. Your group was easy to spot with all the camera backpacks. I am looking forward to your pictures!
