Rattling Pressured Bucks

Recommended Posts

Here's the story. There are two really nice bucks on my Father-in-Laws farm and surrounding areas. One of the bucks has been shot at twice while the other hasn't been seen as far as I know. Both have been known to bed near an area I will be hunting tomorrow a.m. Will rattling be effective? The biggest of the two was seen with a doe Tuesday night...if that matters. Any help would be great. Thanks....I am completely new to the calling game.

No guarantees with rattling, sometimes you feel like you're wasting your time and the next day its like magic. If you haven't got much time to hunt I'd go for it, try to make something happen. If you've got time, maybe keep it low key for a while and hope he strolls by.

Just cuz a deer is pressured doesn't mean he's had experiences with rattling or is adverse to them...though he might be. Roll the dice or flip a coin.

If anything and he has/had a doe or likely will at this stage of the rut if he has a doe with him you hope she comes your way, rattling isn't gonna bring him in. Or if he's alone between does it might be the ticket.

Some great, concrete info for you eh? If I had all the answers I'd be rich! Good luck and go with the gut.
