Fuel Tank 92 GMC Diesel

gunflint

Question

I need to replace the fuel line that goes from the tank to the fuel pump. Is there anything I should be concerned about before dropping the tank? It looks like I should disconnect the fuel filler line but is there anything else. I just need to drop it far enough to disconnect the old line and reconnect the new one. Thanks. By the way the local dealer wanted $125 for the fuel line. I found it on line for $46 plus shipping.

Why did you have to do it ?

I don't think there should be a problem with it, did you buy a rubber line or a steel line ?

I just added a new fuel pump to my Dodge and I went from right next to tank to filter with 3/8" marine fuel hose, it's twice as thick as standard hose.

It's a rubber and steel line combination. You did give me a thought though. Would it be possible to cut the rubber line coming from the tank, insert the steel line from the new line put a hose clamp on it and save myself from having to drop the tank. Humm.
