Steve Foss Posted November 15, 2007 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Your deer, IMO, bassboy. Gut shots can be fatal pretty quickly or they can go for a long, long ways. Just depends on what is hit and what is missed internally. You put the kill shot on a deer that might have dropped 20 feet farther on or run for a mile. chucker34 Posted November 15, 2007 Share Posted November 15, 2007 Per an earlier post I made, the neighbor's dog got to a doe I arrowed this year in between the two hours I backed out to make sure she was dead and not simply bedded in a slough and I came back. Turns out it was a perfect heart shot and I should have only waited 15 minutes or so but the dog made his claim, ripping into her side with the guts laying out. Who gets the deer me or him?
