Why be afraid to register?

Why do so many browsers here never register? Non registered folks do not get to post or reply, cannot search, and a number of other features they cannot access. Also a number of sponsors make special offers and prices available only to registered users.

Yes, I am a sponsor (in the Equipment/Expert forum). Most of my posts include my signature line (but I removed it this time) which for me includes my real e-mail address and more, but that is my personal choice.

Most people leave their profile with very little information - there just isn't a chance of people spaming you because of registering here. Even a sponsor cannot get your e-mail unless you privately send it to them.

In the IceFishing forum a few minutes ago there were 20 registered and 50 non-registered browsing. I just don't understand.

Oilman - I suspect that many of those listed as unregistered are just not logged in at that moment.

most of the people that your seeing are people that are just here to read and learn. There is alot of people out there that just dont like to post, but love to read about everthing that people are talking about. There is nothing wrong with it, becuase once in a while, there will be a post that they have to register for in order to write, after that they are hooked and a member for life.

When you register (and afterward as well) you have the option to appear as anonymous even though you're logged in.. so that could be some of the anonymous as well...

It took me over a month to register finally had to ask my wife for help,boy did that hurt
