Carpet floor?

First off I'm glad to see that there's finally a spearing forum. Just wondering how many or if any of you guys carpet the floors on your spearhouses to cut down on the noise? I have a Mankato house and I would like to carpet it with some indoor/outdoor carpet but I'm not sure how it will hold up with the water getting into it and then freezing. Any comments? Thanks.

I have a two mankato houses that i use both for spearing.

I have placed carpet in both of these houses. There is no reason why a guy should not have carpet in the house. Like you said, it cuts down the sound, but it also will help with heat in the house.

I highly recommend placing carpet in the bottom of the floor.

Its a must have in your house!!! The carpet will also help from light coming in throw the cracks in the flow. It also makes the house a lot more comfortable to sit in for hour on end!!!

I've had the same carpet in my mankato for over 20 years. In addition to the above mentioned reasons its also nice to stretch out on and take a nap on those slowwww days.

that is true. I have taken carpet from houses that people take out, and use it. Dont spend the extra money for carpet that you know will be trash in 2 years. Take some that you know that people are going to throw it away.

If you get the freebie from a removal make sure that no cats or dogs have done thier bussiness on it! Check the back for stains!

I am in the Wolf Lake in Becker county. Little town between Detroit lakes and Park Rapids. Nice northerns in this one too, not a lot of big ones but a lot of them.
