Installing hyfax runners

I'm looking at picking up some of the hyfax runners to install on my portable sled based on reading a number of the posts here. I bought a used portable at the end of last season that was already modified with seats and compartments in the sled. My question is, will I still be able to install the runners with everything still installed, or do you need to have everything out to get them on?

I would say that it depends on if you had help or not. If you had help that can reach from the front to the back of the sled through one or more of the compartments you should be O.K. I put them on my X2 by myself, but I didn't have compartments and it would have been easier with two people on that as well.

fishnhooks - thanks for the reply. I believe I'll have help installing them, so I should be ok. I think I can access everything through the compartments. Has anyone else out there installed them after their modifications were in?

If you have another to help you, then it should not be that big of as job. One on each side of the tub with it on its side and you should be good to go.

You will love the hyfax as it helps keep the sled straight when towing and will give more life to the tub. Great choice to do this.

Just finished installing some Runners on my Eskimo. It recomended that it would be a two man job. All I did was use some Duct Tape to tape it into place and drilled the Holes into the Sled.

I did the same thing to my Eskimo last year as you tchow but I wish I knew then about heating the runners where it curves around on the ends. It would of been easier.

If you slowly heat the runners as you are curving them on the sled you can get them to take the shap of the sled and makes installing them much easier. Just use your heat gun, and a glove

Wished that I installed them first on the Sled. On one end, I put on a Hitch to tow behind the Quad. The Hitch is in the way on the end of the runner....I did drill a new hole into the Runner. Used two sizes of Bits, smaller to fit the size of the Screw and a larger so it could be recessed like the others.

I'm always amazed at how quickly I receive the product I order from Otter Outdoors. I ordered the runners on Sunday night and they came on Tuesday morning.
