2007-2008 Spearing Trips

Does anyone have any trips planned yet for the up coming spearing season??? Bass N Spear and I will be taking a trip right after X-mass to the Cass Lake area. Hopefully by then we will have the camera’s working so we can do some recording of the fish we see!!!

Where is everyone else thinking of heading?

that is correct bro. we will be up by cass lake.

As you might already know, cass lake is part of the lakes that you cant spear on becuase of the muskies. There as some awesome lake sure around the area by cass that produce some awesome sights.

As my bro can back me up on this, crystal clear water, seeing down 15 feet, watching it like i was and underwater world, who needs to throw the spear.

its a great trip and i look forward to it every year.

I just got a shack set up by Winnie this summer so I will be checking out the area lakes over there.I hope I dont have the same trouble with muskrats as I do over here on this end of the range!

pikeslayer, we have a place about 1/2 hour east of winnie, there are rats all over. last year was the worst ive seen. id like to set a house up on cutfoot one day. my brother did on seely point some years back and did good. but as age creeks up its nice to stay near the cabin for conveince reasons.

Im not happy to hear about the rats,but thats life just like old age we have to deal with it!Half hour away!maybe someday we will fish the same lake and meet up!Allways nice to meet a fellow spearfishermen!

sounds like a plan. i like winnie perchin a few times a year. we could always say fish a little at the gosh dam place or the hill in squaw lake.

I think a trip that everybody should make once in there life is a trip to Lake of the Wodds. Yes there is slot that you can not take one 30-40'', but if you go there the first three weeks you will see one over 40. You will get a couple nice eaters in the 26-28 range. Than just wait for grandpa leroy. It is not to surprising to see 40-50 fish in a day, they run like crazy. One year 4 of us got fish over 40, my biggest is a 43-19lbs

I have heard this from other people as well about the trip to Lake of the woods. There has to be some pigs out there. It would be a awesome trip.
