How do i update the software on my Lowrance?

I heard from a friend that a person is able to update the software on a locator. He said that it would help in being able to read to the newer lake master or navionics chip. I was just curious if this is possible and if so how would i be able to?

Have an empty SD card and go to the HSOforum

Pick your particular unit and download the software update to the SD card. Put the card in your Lowrance and it will automatically update your software.

First off are you having any problems reading chips? If not I would leave it along. Read this first before you do anything lots of pretty good info on why not to update if you aren't having problems.
