Advice for Taking Gramps Fishing

Recommended Posts

For x-mas this year I'm going to give my grampa a weekend of ice fishing. He's 85 years old and not moving as fast as he used to, so I'm looking for something rather catered. But here is the kicker, he loves to catch northern, so I'm looking for good northern fishing. Can anyone recommend first a good northern lake, and then a good guide service/house rental on that lake? Or am I better off waiting for open water to search out those toothy critters with him?

Thanks in advance!!

if u can find a hot northern lake and set a few tip ups out that aren't that far of a walk. and set him up with a bobber n shiner/sucker or something that would work great. maybe be on a lake where u might get some walleyes at dark too. not much of a help but that is my 3 cents

Josh, what about going to Upper Red? This would offer a great big fish for him.

By the way I was gonna call you and see if you were up for a trip there.

E-mail me and let me know your work schedule over the Holidays. We are thinking about going Dec 29th and 30th, coming home the 31st.
