Some Kansas observations...

1. BOY YOU GUYS ARE WOUND UP!!

2. The race was very good. If you guys think that was a bad race, they must not have shown the racing on TV. There were times when they got spread out, but for most of the racing, there were cars really going at it at some point. After the last restart watching Gordon come from 21 or 23 to 5th was amazing. He was flying, taking cars three wide, getting two a lap, it was fun to watch.

3. Stewart is a (Contact Us Please). No one with half a brain would have stayed out to let that tire blow the way he did. That thing was pouring smoke from under the fender and every time it went into the corner you could visually see the car move around when the tire hit the fender it had to be moving the wheels. He got what he deserved he was going to wreck sooner or later the way he was going it was inevitable and totally avoidable...

4. The rain delays stunk. The second one was pretty long because it rained so hard, but honestly the rain didn't last that long. The problem they had when they restarted it was two fold, first it didn't get sunny like it was supposed to and then that first caution took a long time to clean up. That didn't happen because the track was wet though whoever made that comment didn't know what he was talking about.

5. I did stay til the end, or so I thought... We left when the field was frozen and they were coming around on the last lap. We didn't see the deal with Biffle so I can't comment on that, other than to say that it sure seems strange. And to say Gordon was whining about positions? Please, it didn't even change his and on the radio I can assure you he was quite pleased with 5th. He told Letarte when they decided not to restart it that it was probably a good idea as it was getting very hard to see out there. Actually if you think he's whining for positions, you are nuts, if he wanted it to go the way it works best for him, then not giving Bowyer and Johnson the extra points actually helped him... THINK BEFORE YOU TRY TO RIP ANYTHING HENDRICK!

Lastly, Bowyer spent most all night Saturday out in the infield campground just a couple motorhomes away from us. They were buddies of his from nearby as he's a home town boy. Pretty cool, most people left him alone until a few stopped to get pics and autographs then it seemed like he couldn't get away for a long time...word travels fast in the campground!!!

I agree. How can anyone think that they can have an opinion on anything, especially Hendrick for crying out loud. They are off limits to any criticism and everyone should know that by now. smirk.gif

Glad you had a good time. Too bad about the rain though. From what I saw of the race it looked like the racing has gotten a lot better with the cars being able to find their own groove to work in.

From a TV view, it sure looked wet around spots on the track and also pit row after the second rain. In fact, I believe that the jet dryers went down pit row again just before the restart as it was so wet. Unless my TV wasnt working right, I saw wet spots on 75% of pit row ans approx 20% of the track surface.
