Michigander......I can just see you dressed in black, guitar strapped on, sitting on a bucket out on Wamplers Lake singing to the walleye your Rock 'n Reel has just detected-"Because you're mine-I feed you line!".............T

I have a picture for you. It has both the Tub Mount and the Stand Alone Rock-n-Reel

The picture of the Stand Alone is just a prototype which is not as durable or well designed as the production model. When I get a picture of the Stand Alone Rock-n-Reel that is going out it will be shown here 1st.

Here's the picture:
rock-n-reel-bucketmount-stand.jpg

Please Note:
The Tub Mount folds down flush on your portable. So it does not stick out while transporting.

The Stand Alone folds flat and stores easily. The Stand Alone will not fit down even a 10 inch hole.

I had reservatins, when I first saw the Rock-n-Reel, about the rod coming off. So I tested it and then really tested it. The rod did not come off unless I took it off. I was pretty abusive with it while testing.

I believe it's good to be skeptical, however, these are the real deal.

When you fish with the Rock-n-Reel it won't take you long to see why they are so effective and wonder why it wasn't thought of LONG AGO. smile.gif

They don't attach Grabs, they sit on the peg.

When a fish takes the bait..THEY ROCK smile.gif
But they don't come off (at least they didn't come off while I was testing and abusing it).

Grabs,
like I said, you wonder why someone didn't think of it before.

Crappieman they will be sent out as soon as we get them. Quite a few have already spoken for their Stand Alone Rock-n-Reel.

There are NO Tub Mount Rock-n-Reels left. They are all gone.

I'll bet the same happens with the Stand Alones as well. Supplies are limited and going fast.

I don't know when we will get more Tub Mounts.

Rick/T-Bone/wallEYES;
These are a very ingenious rod holder/bobber system. I probably was one of ice show attendees who were looking a little closely. When I seen these at the show the little bulb almost blew a fuse smile.gif !! I use a dowel on my bucket in a simular fashion. This requires alot of adjusting and putzing around. Your solution is quite superior.
After the seasonal madness is over I will be placing my order for one of the stand alone models. For what it is worth, I'm impressed!! smile.gifsmile.gif

Grabs -

I had a 35 inch pike grab mine on LOW a couple years ago when I was using a prototype.

You are correct, the shank of the reel stayed on the peg. The fish actually drug the whole works off the floor, and the Rock N Reel kept the rod from sliding down the hole.

CRAPPIEMAN: That's a small Coffee Can on the Vex to shade the lense .... just cut the two ends out, eliminate and sharp metal and spray paint flat-black ...... fits right on there.

The R&R took many hands and minds to perfect, and my students helped Tom and his feildtesters to develop the R&R to the fish catching machine it is today. We hope that all of you that have bought one enjoy it. And for those of you who hav'nt yet, as one of my students said, "Mr.B I dont know anything about ice fishing but if I ever start I want one of these". Have a great holiday season all...

I had the pleasure of fishing with the stand alone and the tub mount tonite and was very impressed. The few crappies bites that we did get were very easy to detect.Lift bites and a good old smak were as ovbious as the ice was cold.I am ordering mine!
We also saw another rig with the same concept. The guys were haveing a hard time getting the rod out when the fish would bite. That was not the case with the Rock&Reel.

I got to put my R&R to test for the first time. We were fishing big bluegills that were very shy. The wanted a FatFry jig tipped with maggots on a dead stick rig. If you jigged it, they were gone. I used the R&R and my buddy set his rod on a chair. His rod tip would bounce but by the time he set the hook the fish had already dropped it. I knew this would be the perfect time to use the R&R. I placed my rod on the R&R and 15 fish later to his 1, he was pretty impressed. The R&R allowed me to detect the bite, but also allowed enough give so the fish wouldn't feel the rod tip. I cant believe how sensitive it is. Great product.

Thanks for the Report D-MAN. A bunch of us been banging fish all season with this device. Go to URL for the Ice Leader gathering in February and see how these devices work on all species. It will get to the point that you will know what species is going after your offerings by watching your rod tip... Good to see you post on the Rock&Reel!

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
