Craigums
Whats your favorite Creature Baits and what type of presentation do you prefer the most?
Central Bassman
Berkley Beast... I like this lure in the spring and early summer... Texas Rigged Berkley Chigger Craw... I use this bait all the time with a lot of different presentations. I haven’t used the Berkley PowerBait Sabertail Bugs yet but like the way it looks. I texas rig these all most of the time and go flipping with them. Weight depends on the conditions and the cover I’m fishing. Gary Yamamoto Kreature… Haven’t used these for a while because they are so soft and are not cheap!!!
jalberg
I used to use the Zoom "Brush Hog" all the time. Then a couple years ago I think they changed their plastic formula or something. They are now so soft that they practically fall off the hook under there own weight. They used to be WAY more durable. It's a bummer too because the shape is great and they catch fish, but I can't afford to use one bait per fish. I now use the Berkley "Power Hog" or other Brush Hog knock offs. Texas rigged. I usually use a 1/4 - 3/8 oz. weight for texas rigged worms etc. , but I've had better luck useing a lighter weight with creature baits. Just enough to get those curly tails flapping on the fall. I throw them just about anywhere I think the fish might be, but around the deep weed edge has been the best.
Bullwinkle
CB - You have got to try those sabertails. Money bait right there. I am also a big fan of the brush hogs. Early in the year I bought some Berkley product that I thought was a Bungey worm but after seeing the Bungey worms recently they weren't the same so I have no idea what they were but they had reflective sticker type eyes and they were a tough bait but man I slammed some early season fish on them. Ran out and can't seem to locate any. Anybody have an idea what they may have been?
