EXTREME
What is the scoop with Zone 3B? I was reading in the regs that a All-Season license is not good in that Zone. Why? Can you still hunt down there if you buy another license? Can someone out there let me know. I was thinking of going with a friend down there and hate to be breaking the law. Thanks
96trigger
If you bought an all season license, you are done in 3B. I believe you could still Archery hunt it if you haven't used your license. Many of the areas down here are either Management or Intensive harvest so you could still shoot a deer with your bow. I think it has to do with the number of deer hunters in the woods at one time.

Thanks It's never been legal to hunt the 3B firearm season with an all-season license (or a multi-zone buck for that matter). The reason is it's the only open deer season and there's stiff resistence from landowners and 3B hunters to allowing the all-season license. The general feeling is there would be an influx of hunters if it were allowed since it is the only area still open.
daydreamer
So can I still bowhunt during the 3B firearms dates with an all season license?
lcornice
Quote:So can I still bowhunt during the 3B firearms dates with an all season license? 3B is a firearm designation and does not pertain to archery. So long as you abide by the rules for archery you can hunt concurrent with the 3B firearms season. The only difference is you'll have to wear blaze orange because there's a gun season open. EXTREME
So I guess the general question is: I have and all season license...haven't tagged anything yet...can I bowhunt in zone 3B? Icornice let me know...you seem to know all the regulations. Thanks guys.

jeff127
I wish they would have an all season license available for people who hunt 3B and ONLY 3B. Just make it so the only gun seasons on the license are 3B and muzzleloader. It doesn't seem too unreasonable to make that available for those with land access issues in zone 3. Anybody see why this wouldn't work?jeff
