Advice on new pup

I got my Brit from Bens Brittanys in Leroy Minnesota. He is out of Ike and Reba.

A Brit shouldn't have any problem hunting in cattails. It'll just snake it's way through them instead of plowing through them.

I will second jstark, I got a britt form Ben 2 years ago and I couldnt ask for anything more. great family dog. the kids and Max are always playing. the kids could do anything to Max and all he would do is lick them. when it comes to hunting Max is all bussiness. we had him out hunting at the age of 5 months with many points. then last year (1 1/2years old) he started retreiving the birds with out any training.

If your looking for a britt I would check with Ben. there a great dog

Take a look at the German Shorthaired Pointers.

I have 2 and they are great.

Ok, I'm biased too.

Both are hard workers in the field, great with the kids and wonderful house dogs.

They vary in size depending on the parents.

Our younger one is a bit shorter and lighter than her mother and works closer.

One thing to think of. Long hair vs short hair. I have friends that have to comb their dogs for hours after a hunt, I leave my Vizsla in the kennel for an hour, and he looks clean, just might smell differently.

I usually have more burrs than my Shorthairs.

LOL.. Nope.. that is actually after the shot... with me standing next to her reminding her (not so gently) what "whoa" means. My girlfriend had the camera and was quick enough to get a great picture.

Here is the pic when she first established point on that particular bird...lol

I flushed/shot the bird...She moved about 6 feet to the right (into the field edge) and locked on the cripple.

Yes it is goofy looking, but she is only about 15 feet downwind of a bird.

That dog's structure/build is almost identical to my dog. She looks like she can fly.
