c_lou
Hello all, I am new here and wanted to get some advice. We are planning a trip to Fish Lake and was wondering if I could get any tips or reports on the Walleye's. We are staying at the HiBanks Resort the weekend of Sept. 20-22.Any reports or rigging tips would be appreciated.ThanksCorey
Northlander
Post this in the Duluth forum and you will get a much better reply. We were out jigging for Crappies and eyes a few days ago. Had a few nights walleye hits that I missed but didnt get any eyes bigger than about 12". Only 1 crappie too. That time of year you should find the crappies on deep breaks and deeper flats. I would try Crappie Village, Dock and airplane islands and the island breaks on the west side. Be careful! The water is very low right now!Small jigs and minnows as well as small ice fishing spoons and minnows slow trolled with get ya both species.I would concentrate on the 14-18' breaks in the day and at low light or early late try shallower weed edges.Plenty of nice perch and sunnies in the mix as well. Capt.Blaine
Tim at Hi-Banks can point out some spots on his map. I would bring minnows and fish the shore or points that the wind is blowing on. Crappies are starting to go deeper.
