  1. Did you happen catch the water temp at your cabin?
  2. It's good to hear from you Slabasaurus. If you get a chance to wet a line in the next couple weeks, let me know how it goes. I don't like fishing the opener, but if that's when the crappies are going to be in shallow, I might need to get out. My guess is this cool down is going to slow things down a bit.
  3. Any word on how the fishing is going on the lake? Seems like everything is going to be early this year. Might need to get out a little sooner than past years.
  4. I just lol'd out loud multiple times. That has got to be one of the funniest stories I have ever read. It's amazing most of us guys survived child hood.
  5. Hunting in Buffalo county. I noticed the frist 2 small scrapes last night. I think the end of this week we should start seeing some pre-rut activity. As long as the temps stay relativly normal, the weekend of halloween and the follwing week should be the time to be out there.
  6. Went up for the last time this year and fished for about 4 hours. We caught a few fish right out from the TP. We moved up to the North end of the lake and didn't get anything. We moved to the East shore and got into some pretty good Crappies and Perch. The fish were in about 4 feet of water. I thought it was pretty odd for them to be that shallow.
  7. Any updates on Water Temp? Trying to plan for this weekend, if it doesn't rain.
  8. Not sure I will get up there this weekend. I might try for the opener, water should be warmer by then.
  9. Any updates on ice conditions from Big Chetac? Boats all gassed up(ouch) ready to go. I've got a guys weekend for April 30th.
  10. Let's not forget to wear our safety harnesses if you are going up a tree. Another statistic that you don't want to be a part of. Good Luck to all hunters this weekend. Remember KNOW YOUR TARGET!!!!!!!! You can't kill a noise.
  11. Last weekend the lake was pretty green. The weeds are still there, but with the stained water, you will need a locator to see them. We didn't do any fishing last weekend. Good Luck.
  12. From what I have been hearing the Northern and Walleye bite is pretty slow. Trolling weed lines for the snakes is always good. The part of the lake you are staying offers some good snake fishing. Our cabin is just down the lane from the resort you are going to. The panfish are still biting pretty good in about 6' of water. Next time we are going up is Labor Day. Hope the water has cooled down a little bit, last weekend I had 77.6 on the finder. For food, we try to get over to Lincolnwood at least once per trip. They have some great food.
  13. My FIL tells me there are some cribs located out from the TP resort. Does anybody have the coordinates they could PM me or email me? I went out Sunday morning with the kids trying to find them, but couldn't find them. I took the kids out fishing Saturday after Pizza at Woodland's, and we only caught a few little ones. It was enough to keep them interested, but I would have liked to get into some size. Sunday was a whole different day. Windy, Cloudy, and Cold. It sure was a welcomed relief from the heat but man, sweatshirt weather already.
  14. It's been a few weeks since I have gotten up to the cabin. The last time I was up however, the weeds were already taller and thicker than I have ever seen. Troll them edges for northerns. There are lots of good overhanging trees on all the shorelines to target the LMB. THere are some ok sizes. Hope that helps at least a little bit. 4th of July is the next time we will get up to the cabin. June stinks this year, I am way to busy. Good Fishing.
