Coach1310
Can't stand the guy..... I read his column and listen to him on WCCO though..... not sure why.... strictly for entertainment purposes..... they always say "It's not what you know, but who you know." Sid is example #1!! Ummm...your point is what exactly?Sid gets paid big bucks to stir the pot a bit too. Is it entertainment?...you bet...Is he always right?...no...but neither are we playing armchair quarterback....Steve
Scott M
No real point to the post. It is just a kind of silly comparison. The one thing I will say is we don't get quasi-celebrity status and big bucks for writing and advertising doing arm chair quarterbacking and he does. Because at the simplest form that is what he does. Thankfully more contemporary journalists hold degrees, don't (at least not all of them don't) bootlick athletes just to get stories, can write articles on a platform other than on the coattails of others, can be something other than a blind homer/shill (are objective), and can write grammatically correct. I used to like Sid as a kid and then I formed my own opinions and started examining his journalistic style and woke up. But he'll never get run out of a job because there are lots of old timers that watch the Sports Show, Listen to the Sports Huddle, and read his sports gossip column (like my dad). So we'll just have to wait until the Good Lord is looking for a buddy buddy reporter for the big newspaper in the sky.
papabear
hes alomost a MN icon only for the fact that he has been around so long. He kind of started the love hate relationship thing so many sports talk guys have now.
IFallsRon
You could swap names on Sid and the Shooter and couldn't tell the difference. It's the style that outstate small newspaper guys use to fill space.
LMITOUT
Did you see Sid during the Terry Ryan press conference today? Holy cow! Blubbering fool. Somebody better have him on suicide watch because he's right on the edge with Ryan stepping down. ROFL. What a doufus.
