Podcast 28 Pope and Young Bear Down in the Northwoods!

This is Gordy from Oskosh, Wisconsin with a 437lb. Black bear taken while guided by Outdoors with Jonny P & Waskish Minnow Station.

Its time to check baqck in with Jonny P and see how the bear season is going. And GOING it is! While I had him on the ohone I also was able to bend his ear about the up coming Grouse season as well. Good luck this weekend to all my archer frends and small game hunter. And any youth out there taking advantage of the early waterfoul season, I hope you have a blast.. Literaly!

One thing I have to say is Gordy along with the rest of his Wisconsin based hunting party did a great job in some tough conditions. They dealt with super hot temps, high winds and thunderstorms rolling through nightly. By having the ability to adapt to the tough conditions along with accepting to to try a few things out of the norm for bear hunting they were rewarded accordingly. Not to mention the ability to keep a cool head and not even think of shooting while sow after large sow worked the baits under them. Truly shows that even Packer fans can be great stewards of the resource.

We have also had another large boar taken by a rifle hunter, we have yet to get the officail weight on this animal but we do have the picture.

Nice job guys. Congratulations, awsome bear. I'm still working at it. Whent in last night, the crib has been rocked for the last five, six days, baited up, set the crib, an set into stand, cold drizzly evening. Nothing showed. Whent in about 6:45 this morning, the crib was opened up through out the night, I reset an burned some bacon to try an intice him back in for breakfast, sat for three hour an no show. Dang nocturnal bear. tonight I'm gonna start pulling bait at sundown for four five day to see if I can turn him. Again congrats, on those awsome bear, Boar
