Weather Fronts

OK, I am throughly convinced that cold front's really do effect fishing. So, I am wondering if there is a good site that details fronts for any given area, and approaching fronts. So one could know what to expect before he goes out on the lake. mad.gif Where do you look to see the current and coming fronts before you hit the lake?

Fronts definatley affect fish. I usually just use basic News weather to see when fronts will be coming through but any weather HSOforum or channel would be worth checking. Any big weather change you see means a front. A big storm predicted or temp drop means a front. Pay attention to when they say the front will move through as you will want to be on the water before the front. Also pay attention to pressure/barometer dropping pressure is a good time to be fishing. The more or faster it drops the better. Also, anytime you see a forecast with stable weather for more than a few days, you can expect a decent bite.

Fish still continue to feed after a front comes through, smaller fronts may not affect fishing but larger fronts do slow things down. When this happens you may want to try downsizing your presentation, such as if rigging crawlers,go to a half crawler lighter line and smaller weights and slow down.Rivers are not as affected as most lakes are, likewise bigger lakes are not as affected as smaller lakes. For me Ill go fishing regardless of weather fronts, fish gotta eat and I want my bait there when they do laugh.gif
