fishermann222
In Western Alaska we are allowed to subsistance hunt birds. Subsistance means shoot what you want to consume, Federal regulations. Here was our hunt from this past weekend before the sporting season started. Now it is a 10 bird limit per day with 30 in possession. The tundra swans in the photo taste INCREDIBLE.

Ufatz
I read somewhere that only Alaska native people, Eskimos, Aleuts etc. were allowed to subsistence hunt and that temporary residents were prohibited. Have they changed the law? I know the Feds. can do marvelous things!!

fishermann222
Temp residents are in fact prohibited from partaking in subsistance. You have to have lived in the area for 1 year with the intent to stay.
