Tail Dancer Deep #9 question

I purchased my new dive book and can not find the dive chart for the TDD 9. I purchased 7 of these babies and could use some help if some of you have been diving with them. I like to use 14lb fireline. Your help is greatly appreciated. Rocket

General rule on the #9 is 7 foot casting and 12+ feet when trolling. Obviously that will depend on line, how much line is out when trolling, etc. With 14lb fireline, I'd say 12'-14' when trolling.

Just find a 12', 15' and a 20'deep flat run out some line and see how much goes out before it hits bottom. Or, at what ever depth your fishing let out line untill you start ticking bottom. The TD DEEP #9 do get down to 12' quick.

I run the #9 deep tail dancers with 10# powerpro and at about 150' back i'm running very close to 20'down, if i use a cross lok snap it runs closer to 15-17 feet. I usually troll this lure in 20-25 feet so I let out a lot of line, i've had it hit bottom in 18' but 20' is smooth sailing.

With 100-125 feet of line out (10# Fireline), I will tick bottom at close to 20 feet. I don't think I've quite gotten there yet, but definitely 18 or 19 feet. The perch color has produced some larger fish for me that hang near 24 feet deep structure.

Its real close to the same dive curve as the deep little ripper reef runner.

Why would using a cross lok snap decrease the dive depth?

Some people use the ones with the ball bearing swivels! Why? I don't know.

A #2 crosslock........................

I use crosslocks(just the crosslock no swivels) on all of my crank trolling rods. It's alot easier to change plugs. I haven't noticed any difference in plug depth or action from tying direct to plug.
