OK... thanks. Nice fish, by the way. Hopefully I can catch my first one over the next few days. By the way, I think I found your "pikes bay" over on Minnetonka... caught plenty ranging from 21-31"...

if thats the case, if you work that shore line, you'll find that the muskies are in the shallows also grin.gifgrin.gif

I suppose you are referring to the north shoreline... exactly what I was doing. No muskies yet, though...

not sure if its north or what not. But it if you're heading towards the railroad bridge, its on the left side grin.gif

Yup, pictures for sure. But it was a flathead and not a musky.

a fish is a fish!! If a flathead is the monkey that was hanging on your back, that counts too!

Huh... I thought it was a monkey of a completely different type! I guess I'm the only one with that monkey hanging on my back these days.

I've actually seen a guy walk around the lake with a pet monkey grin.gif

Apparently I'm not the only one to rid myself of certain "primates". I caught my very first muskie today out on Minnetonka... 32" with a "beergut". It's not a real large one, but it fought just great. At first I thought I had a fairly big pike, then the thing shot out of the water like triton missile launched from a submarine! Caught on my new muskie spinning rod/reel setup (7' St Croix Ex-Hvy action/Shimano Symetre 4000) with a custom musky in-line spinner (similar to a DC-10). I caught a couple quick pictures with my cell-phone and released her quickly. Sorry about the rather poor and unorthodox shots, but I was fishing alone and it was the only way I could take pictures.

You got it! Funny, we were just talking about that yesterday. West side of the bay this time, as opposed to the north. This and only my second time out on Minnetonka. I plan on going again this Wednesday... have to sharpen all my hooks again!
