st.crioxfishin
This was from an article on the bassmaster web site about Greg Hackney's (professional bass angler) heavy duty shakey head rig... "I like to rig 'em heavy — 1/2 or 3/4 ounce, maybe even a full ounce — with a football head jig and a Strike King Zero plastic trailer. I want to give quality bass something new to look at, and this does the trick. I don't even think the pros are doing it yet," he says. Ray...haven't you been using this for a long time? A senko on a jigworm head? I beleive you used it to clean house on Waconia this year..Looks like you've been fishing with a technique thats still a "secret" on the pro tour, what other secret techniques are you hiding from us , just thought that was interesting.. Ray Esboldt
Yes. But, that was really out of shear stuborness. I fish wacky rigs some and I fish senkos t-rigged without a weight some too. However, I think the bait just works the best on a mushroomhead, a football jig on rocks, or a lightly weighted carolina rig.I still use lots of "regular" worms on mushroom heads, but fishing a 5" senko in the wind is just easier to manage than the regular worms. Easier because you have more bait weight to work with.I just figured everyone did that. As for secrets, I have none.
french_lake_kid
I also heard that they would take a senko fish it wacky-style on a football jig like a roller jig. Weird
