Camper slash ice house?

I am looking for a smaller travel trailer that I can haul with my Durrango for hunting and summer camping. I also would like to buy a sleeper ice house for the winter. Are there any combos that can be used for both out there. I noticed Ice Castle sells a few models but what are the differnces. I would want a good heater for winter and a air conditioner for summer. What else is avalable?

I saw the Dream Shak's at the Game Fair last weekend. They are really nice. But this guy doesn't have an extra $24,000 laying around. They definately would be worth it (if you did a lot of camping in the off season) They even had the drop door in the back to load your wheeler or whatever inside. Pretty sweet set-up though if you ask me.

a regular drop down fish house works just fine for camping. we were with some people 3 weeks ago that had a 7x16 and it worked real well. they had a window air conditioner that they were able to put in and out without any trouble. how much time do you spend in the camper while camping?

So, if I buy one of these with the air conditioning and other camping/traveling accessories and I license it as a camper/rv, do I need to have a shelter license when on the lake ice fishing? I have heard both ways before. One guy I knows says the DNR says no shelter license needed since it is already licensed. I assume that is the case.

if you fish in it OVERNIGHT it will need a shelter license. if you just use it for day trips and don't sleep in it, then you don't need the license. either way it's only $12.50 for the shelter tag, so not a big deal.

If you have more time then money... I suggest checking out the kits from Fish House supply. I have built 2 houses with there kits and frames, and with the frames they have, you won't go wrong. I put many miles on every year going back and forth from LOW and Red lake with no issues of any kind. They are great to work with and go out of there way to make it a great experience for you as you build. I have seen alot of fish houses out there for $15,000 plus and I would not trade any of them for mine, only costing around $6500 to build myself. They are also a Sponsor of this great forum. Here is a link to the kits http://fishhousesupply.com/icehousekits.htm
