wazz
I grew up fishing on 2 lakes, Milles Lacs and Winnibagosih. And we would always drag lindys or slip bob. And we always caught fish. I have been up north for the past 4 weekends and each weekend we fished a different lake. We caught fish but no eyes and those darn rock bass are a pain in the a**, so I guess I don't know how to catch walleyes after all. I looking for anyone and eveyones input, so when I head up north next weekend, to Strawberry lake, I can be a little more confident I will catch some eyes. Teach Me Thanks Wazz
Scott K
When its this hot, it can be tough to catch eyes. The best thing to do is fish for them in the evening, till about 11pm. In the outside of the weed edges, is where I had best luck lately.
Dave S
you can also try using jig heads instead of Lindy rigs. Do you use spinners on your lindy's? Bottom Bouncers? Try changing your snell length. If the fish are holding tight to the bottom, try using a shorter snell. If leeches or crawlers aren't doing the trick, try some redtail chubs about 3" long. Team Otter
This a tough time of the year, so don't get too frustrated. Trolling crankbaits is a good option as is casting in amongst any schools of baitfish you may be able to locate.
zachp
Strawberry lake in Becker county? If so that's a very clear lake and a tough one for the 'eyes, i know of people that can catch em out there but it's mostly limited to early morning/evening. Lindy's with a crawler near sunken islands or trolling raps near any shoreline should get some fish...You will catch a lot of rock bass but might be able to get a couple walleyes mixed in, there are some brutes in that lake.
